To ensure the safest treatment and the best possible results, please follow these preparation guidelines before your appointment.
Avoid Sun Exposure
Please avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for 5–7 days prior to your treatment. Recently tanned or sunburned skin cannot be treated safely.
Pause Active Skincare Products
Stop using retinol, tretinoin, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or other exfoliating products at least 3–5 days before your appointment to reduce skin sensitivity.
Avoid Other Skin Treatments
Do not schedule waxing, chemical peels, microneedling, or other laser treatments on the treatment area for at least 7 days before your Pico session.
Arrive With Clean Skin
Please arrive with clean skin free of makeup, lotion, or sunscreen on the treatment area.
Avoid Blood Thinners (If Possible)
If medically appropriate, avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, alcohol, and fish oil supplements for 24–48 hours prior to treatment to minimize sensitivity and bruising.
Inform Your Provider
Please notify your provider if you are:
• Pregnant or breastfeeding
• Taking medications that increase light sensitivity
• Have used Accutane within the past 6 months
